Plan to Plant Indigenous Guide

Mapping Services Australia has put together an interactive map shows the original vegetation that occurred in the SA Murray-Darling Basin prior to European settlement. A description of each plant communities is provided as well as a detailed list of species that originally occurred in each community.

The map was funded by the South Australian Murray-Darling Basin Natural Resource Management Board and  created using Arc2Earth, Google Fusion Tables and the Google Maps API.

Before & After - the Murray Floods

We have created a demo of before and after images of the 2011 River Murray Floods. Images from Landsat 5 on April 2009 and March 2011 can be compared to view the extensive flodding on the Pike and Chowilla Floodplains.
